Painting is like a different world to me. It connects me to all the other artists before me and to my dreams at the same time. Many artists from the impressionism inspire me but I also seek guidance from the old masters whose works I have visited in famous museums in the Netherlands and elsewhere. I mainly work with acrylic until I find an adequate workplace for oil painting. I like to begin with sketches before I start on the canvas or paper. The actual act of painting never fails to give me a grand sensation of fulfillment. I paint still life, landscapes, florals or portraits. My goal is to spark fascination and appreciation in the beholder.
