"The Objector Series"

The ‘Objector’ series is inspired by an awareness from early years of ongoing unfairness in our world. Each work addresses a particular subject where mans inhumanity to man is evident. Carrying this awareness through early years in South Africa where the horrors of racism were flagrant and the subjugation of women was ubiquitous. I have chosen to look at these subjects obliquely and express my frustration at our collective failure to learn from history. I have presented each subject adorned with the words of others who have witnessed the struggles I represent in my art. I would like my artistic expression to reach the viewer through these works and prompt them to remain aware of these injustices.
