Claude Winn is a Princeton, NJ based artist. She was born and raised in Montreal to parents who immigrated from Iraq and Iran. Art was the family religion, and her Persian mother introduced her to every element of classical and modern art.
She completed bachelor and masters degrees in art history, film, and literature. Claude then pursued a two-decade period of study and practice of Eastern mysticism and philosophy. In her early forties she transitioned to a full-time painter.
Claude’s work is sparked by a desire to communicate her internal experience of life in the moment, though color, movement, and form. Each painting has its own essence and her work is to uncover it. The finished piece is often a surprise to her as it is unplanned and resists control. Collectors say that her paintings interweave with their own dreams and aspirations.
