Ellen Pestili is a Brazilian painter/mixed media artist, Italian descendant, based in the United States. She has a Bachelor in Art, with a Major in Art at Edgewood College, Madison, Wisconsin. She is Veterinary too, but since 2005 works full time with Art. She also has been the author and illustrator of children’s books, and has written 15 and illustrated around 50 books.
Ellen’s work is basically inspired by her daily life. She loves to paint flowers from her surroundings, landscapes, food, kitchen utensils, like her ceramic pots... sometimes, instead of figurative painting, some shapes are lost, and abstract paintings appear, leaving only the impressions of everything. But her painting colors remain, with its strong and determined brushstrokes. The artists that most inspire her are Milton Avery and Matisse.
Ellen’s artwork has been exhibited in Galleries in Brazil, the United States and Canada and her illustrations were exhibited in Brazil, Italy and Slovakia. She loves to spend time with her family, especially in nature, hiking, cycling, traveling, and doing Bible Journaling.
