Glenn Grubbs is an artist and architect working in Joshua Tree, California. Originally from Washington, DC, his love of the desert led him out west, where he graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Master of Architecture degrees.
He is a licensed Architect in the State of Arizona, and continues to pursue his passion for art as an active member of the Los Angeles Arts Association, by actively working in his studio and participating in Life Drawing groups, including membership in the Urban Sketchers in the Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm groups.
His artwork is centered around painting, and reflects two profound influences; the bold lines and primal figures depicted in the petroglyph art of the ancient people of the American Southwest, and the colorful, spiritual compositions of modern artists such as Paul Klee and Wilfredo Lam.
In addition to his active art studio in the foothills of Joshua Tree National Park, Glenn currently serves as the Deputy Public Works Officer for the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in 29 Palms, California. He has exhibited internationally, and his artworks have been acquired by private collections in the USA, Canada, Norway, Scotland, and England.
