Joanna Chrys is a mixed media artist based in Los Angeles, CA. With a background in weaving and textile design, her current work “Happiness in Progress” has transcended into a visceral and tactile experience. In a flow of consciousness, dots of acrylic paint are composed and layered onto the canvas, creating highly texturized surfaces.
Through complex and rhythmic action, geometric, cosmic, and psychedelic patterns result in an amplified interpretation of emotion. These surreal and immersive compositions are a physical manifestation of an autonomous state of mind.
