Julie Himelein is a contemporary acrylic painter that creates intuitive art from the soul. She took her first oil painting class at age twelve and continued with many workshops over the years. After a career in Nursing she discovered her new found love of acrylic painting. Using vibrant colors that are applied in layers, she creates transparency as well as a joyful abstract quality. The paintings all have movement, as well as a sense of tranquility.
While residing in New York and spending winters in Venice, Florida she is inspired by the ocean, florals and nature. With a deep love for the importance of “positive thinking” as well as her beautiful brush work she seems to draw the viewer in to ponder each piece with emotion, intrigue and mystery.
