Aspen based, artist Lisa Caplan, is inspired by adventure and the vitality of the planet. Mountains, ocean, dreamscapes and deconstructions of urban landscapes infuse her paintings with the energy of being immersed in a landscape of color vibration. The artist distills her perceptions and meditations on the sublime power, volatility and beauty of the elements into vibrant, abstract compositions. Lisa’s dynamic paintings explore space, the duality of living form and the architecture of nature. Lisa Caplan earned a Master in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Boston University. Caplan’s prolific body of work is rooted in a foundation of rigorous formal training in figurative sculpture, painting and drawing. With this strong background, the artist immerses herself in the imaginative and introspective world of her creativity, where she brings spontaneity, spirit and precision to her mark-making and color selections, crafting her art as smoothly as a hot knife through butter. Caplan’s work is collected and exhibited across the globe, and notably featured in major motion pictures by Universal Studios and included in the permanent collection of the United Nations in New York.
