Lisa Fisher is a contemporary artist from Bethesda, MD, currently living in Martinsburg, WV. She has been in several European magazines, a book, had numerous shows and her work has been collected throughout the US and internationally. Her artwork portrays a few different subjects, including elaborate mixed media collage, abstract paintings and stripes. These allow her intuitive style to be expressive and unrestricted.
Lisa came from a creative family, so her knowledge of different medias has helped her pursue and work with a wide range of tools, materials and substrates. Ever since she was young, she’s had a hand in creating something, but didn’t pick up painting until 30 years ago. She’s taken many courses with great artists and over time, learned to develop her own style and to trust her intuitive process. Lisa’s love of hand painted paper, mark making, and texture are at the forefront of every collage piece and is incorporated in different ways.
With her inspiration of color at the forefront of every piece, Lisa is completely intuitive in the studio, meaning she never has a specific idea in mind when she starts to create, but is guided by color and the emotions it evokes in her and her work. You’ll easily spot her signature style of multi-color, joyful, energy in everything she does. This results in vibrant pops of unexpected aspects and colors intertwining making bold, beautiful art that will instantly transform any space.
