Melissa Bollen is a contemporary painter living in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her BFA from Bowling Green State University and also studied at Cleveland Institute Of Art.
Melissa worked at American Greetings designing greeting cards for fifteen years. After this, she became a mother to her two boys, and currently works from her home studio. In addition, she has exhibited and received numerous awards in juried art shows. Melissa Bollen’s work is in many private collections in the United States and abroad.
Melissa is influenced by art from the Cubist and Abstract Expressionist schools. Also present in her work is her cartoonist father, Roger Bollen, whose own fine art was informed by Color Field painting.
