Minu Achrekar, an emerging artist based in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK, has devoted the past 8 years to honing her self-taught artistic skills. Exploring various mediums such as acrylics, oils, watercolors, and glass colors, Minu's recent fascination lies in the dynamic world of alcohol inks. Venturing beyond traditional brushes, she employs unique techniques using straws and hairdryers to create vibrant and unpredictable artworks, each one showcasing her commitment to innovation.
Embarking on a Mastery in Fine Art courses at the Milan Art Institute over the past year, Minu has expanded her artistic horizons. While revisiting other mediums, she now seeks to blend alcohol inks with different artistic expressions. Inspired by the natural world and diverse themes, Minu is currently immersed in a series of rural and semi-urban landscapes, drawn from her extensive travels. Her goal is to evoke feelings of positivity, strength, or nostalgic pleasure in the viewers of her paintings.
With a lifelong passion for the arts and a creative family background, Minu's artistic journey began with competitive exams and district-level competitions during her student years. Now a healthcare worker in the UK, she balances her professional life with her artistic pursuits. A member of the Horsforth Art Society, Minu has participated in numerous art trails, group exhibitions, and art fairs in the UK. Her work graces private collections worldwide, and she has been featured in radio interviews and newsprint. Notably, her cityscape painting earned an award from the Leeds Civic Trust and secured a spot in the Leeds City Calendar for 2024.
