I live and work in the countryside outside of Madison, Wisconsin. The property falls within the Driftless or unglaciated section of southwestern WI.
I am fortunate to live where I do since the natural world in all its glory inspires me to create. When I am surrounded by beauty I have an overwhelming need to express myself in some sort of creation. Of equal importance to my expression, and in fact undergirding it, are the fundamental foundations I learned through my classical training in art. I am always thinking about sound drawing, composition, effective use of color and creative original design. As I love being in the out of doors, I am completely happy working on location, attempting to capture the fleeting light quality in the landscape in front of me.In my studio my artwork can come from a memory, my imagination or a still life whose successful outcome depends on intense observation and careful drawing and rendering.My work is included in art collections both private and corporate- nationally and internationally.
