Born in North Carolina, Patricia Fay Thomas now divides her time between Quebec City, Canada, Chapel Hill, N.C., and international destinations dictated by work as a consultant. Art has been an integral part of her life since childhood, when she began private instruction at age twelve, later receiving a degree in studio art and psychology from the University of North Carolina. Just before graduation, a chance encounter with a US Peace Corps recruiter on campus resulted in her signing up and shipping off to Burkina Faso, West Africa, where she lived and worked for five years. Afterwards she moved to Quebec, completed an MA in Sociology and continued her work in women’s empowerment in many different countries. Patricia has now ‘come home’ to her art, and works from her studio in the city of Québec. Her work has been exhibited in Canada and the US, and acquired by private collectors in the US, Canada and Europe.
