I was born in Roswell, New Mexico in 1950. I grew up there and in Colorado. I attended the University of Denver and University of Stockholm to receive a BA in English Literature. I taught English in Japan for 3 years (1973-1976). I returned to Arizona in 1977 where I attended Thunderbird (American School of International Management) and earned an MBA. I have since worked as an international banker, and started or co-founded several companies: an import/export firm, an apparel importer and a California based swimwear manufacturing company (bikinis). I have also worked for a number of large software companies and for the last 14 years have been one of two managing partners at The BlackIron Group, a software integration and implementation consulting firm.
For the last 50 years my interest in art has always been abstraction in painting and print making. In particular abstract landscapes inspired by the wide open spaces of the American West. For the last 20 years I have had a working studio in New Hampshire. I live in New London, NH with my wife, Patti O’brien and our Portuguese Water Dog - Seamus.
