Sara started creating and sewing as a child, and began her art career over 25 years ago as a fiber artist and art quilter. She loves experimenting with new techniques and mediums, but fabric and fiber have always been at the core of her work. Her goal as an artist is to bring the joy and happiness she experiences in her life when creating art to her viewers and collectors. The bright colors in nature inspire and energize her. Sara always says: "I don't do dull". She is happiest when creating with vivid and unexpected colors and with curved flowing shapes using fabrics & fibers to add texture to her works. These elements represent how life is always changing & flowing to create new directions and experiences. Sara usually has no plan in her head when she starts a piece. She lets her emotions direct her color, shape, form and texture. Her art just emerges from the canvas or fabric as she looses herself in the process of creating. Her energy just seems to kick in when she is working in her Santa Fe studio creating her art . The process of making the art is what she loves spending her time at most.
