Susan is originally from Minnesota, where she received a BFA from the University of Minnesota. Her inspiration comes from the beauty of the diverse California landscape and also from the women abstract expressionists of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, to include Grace Hartigan, Joan Mitchell and Helen Frankenthaler. A quote from Joan Mitchell best informs her work: “I paint from remembered landscapes that I carry with me, and remembered feelings of them.” Exhibitions include: Greenly Art Space, The Creative Group Gallery, Huntington Beach Art Center, Hellada Art Gallery and Cultural Alliance of Long Beach.
